St. Louis Trip

From June 19th-27th, we took  a trip to St. Louis, Missouri. Olivia's first official trip!

We left on Friday June 19th, and drove to Asheville. Then we picked up Grandma and Grandpa and drove out to St. Louis on Saturday June 20th. It was about a 10 hour drive. Whew! Olivia was not a fan of her car seat, or the ride, or anything that day. She wasn't a horrible passenger but it definitely was not what you see in the movies where the child is so calm and smiling and loving every minute of the ride. The day before, Olivia got her 4 month shots, so that may have contributed to her fussiness... or she could just be acting like a 4 month old and doing all that she can and understand.

So when we got to Asheville, I had to break out the Selfie Stick to show my mom how awesome it is!

And then starts our trip...

Jeremy had a conference on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. During those days, I got to hang out with my family.

While visiting the Welcome Center and stretching our legs, we ran into Dolly Parton! Okay, not really but the cardboard picture of her looked real!

Olivia got to meet her great grandpa when we passed through Illinois.

There is a fast food restaurant in the Midwest called Culver's/ This place is delicious! They have burgers (what they're famous for). corn dogs, chicken, and crinkle fries. The best part is when you get a kid's meal, it comes with a side of custard and a topping. YUM! I always order vanilla custard with Reese's Cups.

Meet Grace... She's the 3rd Grace in our family and I absolutely LOVE her!
On Sunday June 21st, Jeremy celebrated his first of many father's day! This was the collage I posted on Facebook. I took the "DAD" pictures and put them in a frame for him to hang in his office. Every year, we will take the same pictures with the letters to capture each father's day and how big Olivia is getting.
Also on Father's Day, we went and visited my Grandma at her assisted living place. This was the first time she met Olivia. When we got to the place, we found out my grandma was having trouble walking. Long story short, my grandma fractured two parts of her pelvis and is currently in a rehab center to try and get some mobility back. Please say some prayers for her. <3

At my baby shower, there was a station to write on diapers. I saved this diaper just for Grace to change O.

Ted Drews is an ice cream place that is famous on Route 66. It is DELICIOUS! Olivia went there but slept the entire time. Bummer!

While out in St. Louis, my sister and brother-in-law celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary. We share the love of Japanese food so we went on a double date to a Japanese restaurant.

After a week of visiting and Jeremy at his conference, it was time to go home. We decided instead of driving to Asheville, spending the night, then going home, we drove straight through- Missouri to North Carolina. This drive was just shy of 12 hours but thankfully Olivia did AMAZING!!!!!

While driving, we passed by a town called Santa Claus. It is located in Indiana. I thought it was interesting.

Sleeping in the car- hallelujah!

While in West Virginia, we were at a rest stop and across the street was the Amazon Customer Service center.

Pilot Mountain- where Jeremy proposed
When we got home, we were more than exhausted! But then the next morning, Olivia rolled back to front. We officially have a roller both ways. Not too long from now, she will be crawling.
Granny Karen came to visit all of her grand babies. Good thing her lap has room for everyone!

Just a note- Olivia has visited 8 states!
North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, West Virginia, and Virginia.
